<description>Welcome to the second half of Episode 1 of PUNCHING BACK: An Acceptable Punching Bag Defense Podcast! Today's episode is the second half of Adam, Ed and Eric tackling the discourse, controversy, and fandom of RWBY, and PUNCHING BACK on common narratives with meaningful positivity as well as healthy discussion and disagreement. The Acceptable Punching Bag is a term Adam has coined to describe the social phenomenon where a piece of media, a character, a creator, or some other object of discussion receives a consensus that it’s so “objectively” terrible that constant hostility and negativity is justified, or at least understandable; and positivity seems to be rejected, discouraged or even outright condemned. If you’ve ever enjoyed something but felt like if you mentioned it in any given space you risked people almost compulsively talking about how bad it is, you’ve experienced the Acceptable Punching Bag. Adam runs this channel. He is a video essayist, a stage and voice actor, director of the lifelong learning program The Goddard Spark, and above all a lover of stories, hope, and meaningful, productive discussion. Creative works like the fantasy drama KnightStones are produced under the banner of Adam Splitters Entertainment.
