<p>As for Steam, I think you should also get some games from GOG just so that Steam doesn't become a huge monopoly. Valve is a good actor for now, but it's good to keep others around too.</p>

Which allows many to ditch a big bad proprietary OS in the first place. So ditching Valve's software and platform, albeit proprietary, may not be the ultimate priority, when there are other proprietary software to focus on.</p>]]></content:encoded>

Like others, I'm interested in your experiment with UBtouch, looking forward to it. 
You mention there is no open source alternative to Steam. True, but there is a drm-free one (GOG.com), also important for software freedom. And it works well with an open source launcher (heroic). Even though many games are missing, and the games themselves are not OSS either. But yeah, still bound to Steam for many games, did not manage ditching it either.</p>]]></content:encoded>
