The End of The Zoo https://peertube.wtf/videos/watch/40b72c38-c2e2-4bee-a43d-66eafb2865f5 ZEMBLA INTERNATIONAL, the research programme of the Dutch broadcasting association VARA, investigates the future of the zoo with the help of BBC Horizon's confrontational documentary (Should we close our zoos? of 2016). Providing additional information concerning the Dutch situation, critical points are examined, such as the killing of healthy animals because they do not contribute to the health status of the zoo population of the relevant animal species, stereotypical behaviour of animals in captivity, the usefulness of breeding programmes of international zoo organisations and the keeping of orcas in captivity. For slightly better video quality and also more background information and balance in the information, I suggest watching the full BBC documentary here (https://aboutzoos.info/zoos/close-or-rethink-zoos#should-we-close-our-zoos).
